• "I'm glad he's ready for size 3 diapers since Publix brand is $5 cheaper."

• "Do you think the baby is bored?" - "Yes. I heard him telling all his friends that sleepovers should always be at somebody else's house 'cause we're horridly boring."

New Advances

Well Keller has reached a new milestone. This isn't the best picture since it was taken with my camera phone but I had to capture it right away since we're finding it hard to believe that he's holding himself up this well already.

He's 3 1/2 months and he's laughing, smiling and interacting with us more and more every day. I think he's starting to teethe as well because he can't stop drooling and chewing. We're getting such a kick out of him!

• Remotes don't work themselves
• A dirty diaper is a sure way to get handed back off to mom
• Nap time is for adults too
• Apparently if you don't have to wake up to nurse me or rock me back to sleep, you look a lot more chipper in the morning
• It is OK to use a baby that's not yours to pick up ladies

Heads Up!!

There's been plenty of development in baby boy for the past few weeks, but nothing more noticeable than his ability to throw his head around with reckless abandon. Most of the time it's super cute, but occasionally it can be hazardous.

The other morning I was holding him in my right arm and picked up my coffee with my left hand to take a quick sip. That was all he needed in order to get a good lunge in. He threw his head backwards and the rest of his body followed. So I had his little self taking a dive from my right arm and scalding hot coffee in my left hand.  Luckily I squeezed his legs with my forearm, bent my knees and leaned back, and was able to reel him back in. Fortunately their faces are all cartilage at 3 months, so he didn't get much more than a solid bonk on my shoulder.

It's like holding a cabbage patch doll with a small watermelon for a head. Wherever it goes, so do you go. And putting the pacifier in, forget about it. I'm sure when Beth sees us doing that dance it's like watching someone trying to shave a kangaroo. It goes in his eye, his ear, his nose, everywhere but his mouth as that nogon bounces around to and fro. 

Here's to the day when his neck learns to fetch in addition to throw.

Game On Keller

We got some pics today of little man in his baby Jordans that his Uncle Ryan got for him. He also geared up in his All Star jersey and sweats. He just looks so natural already.

The Cats Get Back at Justin

So, our two cats stay indoors but we have a screened in patio that they spend a lot of time on. The screen has never been too sturdy so we've always been nervous that they would break through it. Well, last night we couldn't find Kaia for about an hour and then Justin heard her meowing from outside. She broke through the screen and either fell or jumped through. Justin found her in the grass outside with her little paws on the ledge trying to figure out how to get back inside. It was so sad! We're thankful that she was ok -- we have a lot of crazy stray cats around here that could've had her for dinner.

How to get cat urine out of the car seat after the jealous feline takes a leak in it like the immature 5 year old that he is

• Skin the cat (Lynch).
• Give the pelt to the other cat (Kaia) and make her soak it in soapy water. This assures that she understands the severity of her brother's actions.
• Remove padding from seat.
• Oh wait. First, untangle all of the hooks, straps, hoops, latches, buckles and soldering from the padding and the frame.
• Take the soapy water soaked fur and wash the inside of the frame.
• Make Lynch stand on Kaia's shoulders and throw the padding in the washing machine.
• Dry the frame with paper towels.
• Show Lynch how to use the hair dryer so he can blow dry his fur out.
• Give Kaia the sewing kit and lock both of them in the bedroom.
• Hope that Kaia can figure out how to work the needle and thread. But then again, that's not really my cross to bare.
• Re-attach all of the hooks, straps, hoops, latches, buckles and soldering so that next time we take Keller bungee jumping in our Volvo he'll stay attached to that seat.
• Post all of the pictures I just took of Lynch without his fur on his MySpace page to drive the point home.
• Have a sandwich

Meeting Great Aunts & Uncles

This past Sunday, we had the pleasure of my Uncle Les from St. Pete and my Aunt Sandy from New York getting to meet Keller for the first time. They came over to our place for the morning and got to hold and hang out with the little guy for a while. It was good to see both of them and better to see them with their great nephew for the first time.
